What the Essential plan includes?
The Essential boiler cover plan gives you the core protections every homeowner needs, at a straightforward monthly rate with no excess to pay. Each year a Gas Safe engineer will service your boiler and carry out a full inspection of your gas meter, pipework, and appliances on the property.
- Annual gas boiler service by a Gas Safe engineer
- Visual inspection of your gas meter, pipework, and appliances
- Gas Safety Certificate sent to you by email
- Priority response times and free call-outs
- Discounts on labour, parts, and other JHP services
Bear in mind this plan does not cover boiler repairs, heating system faults, or the cost of re-inspecting any issues flagged in your certificate.

When to choose Essential boiler cover plan
The Essential plan is the right fit if your boiler is in good working order and what you mainly need is a reliable annual service and a valid Gas Safety Certificate. It suits landlords who need to meet legal gas safety obligations at a fixed, predictable cost each month.
- Your boiler is relatively new and in good condition
- You need a Gas Safety Certificate for compliance or rental purposes
- You want free call-outs and priority response without full breakdown cover
- Keeping your monthly costs low is the priority

What the Premium plan includes?
Premium boiler cover plan includes everything in Essential, then goes further with full boiler and central heating cover, all with no excess charges. If something breaks down, one call gets it handled, parts and labour included.
- Boiler repairs including controls, flue, pump, and thermostats
- Boiler replacement discount if your boiler is under 7 years old and beyond repair
- Repairs to radiators, valves, cylinders, and immersion heaters
- Repairs to pipework connecting your central heating system
- Replacement of components where repairs are not possible
Exclusions apply to limescale or sludge damage, underfloor heating, smart controls, and flues over one metre.

When to choose Premium boiler cover plan
Premium is the better choice if you want full protection in case something goes wrong. It's ideal for homeowners who rely on central heating day to day and can't risk unexpected repair bills, especially if the boiler or heating system is getting older.
- Your boiler or heating system is older and more likely to need attention
- You want repairs covered for radiators, cylinders, and pipework too
- You want one plan that handles everything with no excess charges
- Complete peace of mind across your whole heating setup is worth the extra £10 a month

No. A JHP Services home care plan is a service and maintenance contract, not an insurance product. This means it is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and works differently to boiler insurance.
Rather than making a claim through an insurer, you simply contact JHP Services directly and an engineer will be arranged to carry out the work included in your plan. There are no claim forms, no loss adjusters, and no waiting for insurer approval. Your monthly payment covers the agreed services and repairs set out in your plan terms, giving you straightforward, predictable protection with no excess to pay.
No. Both the Essential and Premium plans come with no excess, so you won't be charged anything when you need a repair or call-out.
The Essential plan includes 1 free call-out per year. The Premium plan includes 2 free call-outs per year. Additional call-outs outside of this are chargeable.
On the Essential plan you receive a 10% discount on labour and 10% off parts. On the Premium plan you get a 50% discount on labour, though parts are not included under Premium.
The Essential plan covers your annual boiler service and Gas Safety Certificate. This includes:
- Annual servicing of your gas boiler
- A visual inspection of your gas meter, pipework, and any gas appliances
- A Gas Safety Certificate sent to you by email
It does not cover:
- Repairs or replacement of the gas meter, pipework, or appliances
- The cost of re-inspecting any issues highlighted in your Gas Safety Certificate
- Testing of appliances not identified at the time of booking
- Testing of appliances where access to the electrical connection point is unavailable
The Premium plan covers your annual boiler service and Gas Safety Certificate, boiler and controls, and your central heating system.
Boiler service and Gas Safety Certificate includes the same as Essential above. Boiler and controls cover includes:
- Repairs to your gas boiler (single natural gas boiler, home use only, up to 70kW)
- Repairs to boiler controls including programmer, thermostats, motorised zone valves, and central heating pump
- Repairs and replacements to the flue up to one metre in length
- Boiler replacement discount if your boiler is under 7 years old and cannot be repaired
- Replacement of heating controls if repairs are not possible
Central heating cover includes:
- Repairs to cylinders and immersion heaters
- Repairs to your heat and hot water system including expansion tanks, radiators, and radiator valves
- Repairs to pipes connecting your central heating system
- Replacement of central heating components if repairs are not possible
- Standard replacement radiators and valves
What is not covered under Premium:
- Boilers needing repair or replacement at the time of sign-up
- Damage caused by limescale, sludge, or other debris
- Underfloor heating systems and their associated controls
- Flues longer than one metre or open-flued appliances (unless installed by JHP)
- Smart controls
- Repairs caused by resetting controls or replacing batteries
- Shower repairs or shower pumps
- Curved, decorative, or towel radiators
- Inaccessible components or design faults
- Damage caused by weather or freezing conditions
For boiler breakdowns during office hours, JHP Services aims to respond within 24 hours. Non-emergency jobs may have a 48-hour lead time. On Saturdays, if you call between 9am and 12pm an engineer will attend the same day. Sunday emergencies are carried out the following day.
Cover only begins after an initial survey visit where a JHP engineer assesses your boiler and equipment. If any pre-existing faults are found, these must be repaired before the contract starts.
If the cost of repairing your boiler exceeds 50% of the cost of a replacement, it will be classed as beyond economical repair. JHP Services will provide a quote for a new boiler, and you'll be entitled to a loyalty discount off the installation cost based on your plan.
JHP Services aims to carry out annual boiler services between April and September. They will contact you when your service is due to schedule a visit.
Yes. There is a 14-day cooling-off period from sign-up during which you can cancel for a full refund. After the initial 12-month contract, you can cancel by giving at least 30 days written notice. Cancellation within the 12-month term may require payment for services already carried out.
Yes. A person over the age of 18 must be present at the property during any visit. If you cannot be there yourself, someone authorised to act on your behalf must be present. If no one is available and the visit cannot go ahead, an aborted visit charge will apply.
